Resources for Navigating Uncertainty for Nonprofits

Organizational Adaptability During Uncertainty

During periods of uncertainty and overwhelming circumstances, a key question arises for nonprofit leaders: “How do our organizations adapt to an uncertain landscape and future?” Some will view times of uncertainty as an opportunity to adapt and to make the necessary – yet oftentimes difficult – decisions to strengthen long-term sustainability while learning from implementation.

Organizational adaptability involves three core aspects—impact, people and finances—all interconnected and influenced by a fourth: the needs and resources of the community.

Spectrum Nonprofit Services, a team of nonprofit sustainability specialists in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has curated this toolkit of resources for nonprofit leaders to utilize to help their organizations adapt through uncertain and overwhelming times.
